Madrid Barajas International Airport is 12 km (8 miles) northeast of Madrid. There are several transport options for getting to and from the airport.

By Taxi
Journey time to the city centre is around 25-35 minutes. The fare between Barajas Airport and central Madrid is approx. € 30 including airport supplements.
Beware of taxi touts. Passengers are advised to take a cab from the official stand and not from someone offering taxis inside the terminal. Taxi ranks are situated in front of the Arrivals areas of all terminals. -
By Bus
Madrid Municipal Transport Company EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transportes) runs regular public bus services between the Barajas Airport and Madrid (Avenida de América station). The Bus 200 serves Terminals 1, 2 and 3, while Bus 204 is for Terminal 4. More information is available online (Spanish). -
By Train
The Madrid Metro Line connects the airport with Madrid’s city centre station Nuevos Ministerios in the heart of Madrid’s financial district (journey time - 12 minutes). The Barajas line (no. 8) provides a fast route from the underground stations at Terminals 2 and 4 into central Madrid. The metro also provides links to stations on the Spanish railway network.

Car rental
Companies include Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa, with desks located in terminals 1, 2 and 4. AeroCity-Ares Mobile provides chauffeur-driven cars.
